Adrian Brown, who was killed in a stabbing, was a father to three children

The mother of a 34-year-old man and father-of-three who was stabbed to death on a street in south Manchester has said: "I cannot put into words how I feel. They took my boy."

Adrian Brown was taken to hospital after he was found with knife wounds on Raby Street in Moss Side at about 23:00 BST on Friday but died from his injuries, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

Two men, aged 18 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, while three other people have been held on suspicion of assisting an offender, the force added.

In a tribute Adrian's mother Jennifer Meade said: "Rest in peace, son. I love you more than you know."

GMP said what happened was a "brutal attack" but is believed to be an isolated incident.

The force has appealed for anyone with any information about the attack to come forward as it continues the murder investigation.

'I will get the justice you deserve' says partner

Adrian Brown's partner and the mother of his three children, Tamia Zameer, said they would "cherish every moment that we had".

She said: "R.I.P to my number one, Adrian. I love you always and forever.

"We will miss you so much. Your legacy will forever live on and I will get the justice that you deserve."

His mother said he was a "loving son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and he adored being a dad to my grandkids. I will miss you so much. Rest in peace, son. I love you more than you know."

Det Chf Insp Louise Edwards of GMP said: "First and foremost, my thoughts are with the victim's loved ones as they come to terms with this devastating loss.

"This was a brutal attack on our streets which has resulted in a young man losing his life. Our officers are working tirelessly to identify all those involved and ensure they are brought to justice without delay.

"The arrests so far reflect the extensive work already carried out by the investigation team, and I want to reassure the public that we will continue to pursue every line of enquiry.

"No stone will be left unturned."
