Driver jailed after getaway attempt while handcuffed
Body cam footage has captured a man attempting to drive away from police officers while handcuffed.
John Robinson, 48, can be heard claiming that he was disabled before grabbing the wheel and driving away from the officers with the doors of his SUV open in Cwmbran.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.
Robinson, from London, was sentenced in Newport Crown Court to 12 months imprisonment, was disqualified from driving for 42 months and also ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
