Diver describes swimming with thousands of puffins on Skomer Island as 'awesome'

A 21-year-old diver has described it as "awesome" to swim with thousands of puffins on Skomer Island.

Iestyn Morgan, from north Pembrokeshire, regularly free dives along local beaches, sharing the "incredible" footage of marine life on social media.

On 16 May, he and nine other divers were invited by Pembrokeshire Boat Charters to swim with the puffins on the island.

It was his first visit to the island, which he called a "unique" and "pretty cool" experience.

Earlier this year, a record number of puffins were counted for the second year running on the small island.

He said the puffins were initially hesitant but soon grew comfortable, swimming close to the group in what he described as "really sweet".

However, Morgan stressed the importance of visiting the island responsibly and only travelling there via authorised boat trips.
