A restaurant has had its licence to sell alcohol and stay open late revoked after it was found to have employed an illegal worker.

Wok4Go, in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, was raided by Home Office Immigration Enforcement in June 2025.

It was told to pay a civil penalty of £45,000, which remains unpaid and has been handed over to debt recovery agents, after the worker was employed from April 2024.

Multiple problems with the restaurant were found by investigators, including inadequate staff training on alcohol sales and broken CCTV.

It was also found to be selling alcohol to be consumed on the site when it only had a licence to sell off-site.

A Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council panel stripped the business of its premises licence after a meeting in June.
