Pair arrested over murder of man in break-in

Two men have been arrested in Scotland on suspicion of murder after a 51-year-old man died following a break-in at an apartment building in east Belfast.

Nicholas Gordon, known as Nicky, was attacked when a number of intruders entered the property on the Holywood Road in the early morning of 12 May.

He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

The men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested in Scotland on Monday by officers from Police Scotland.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said arrangements were being made to return the men to Northern Ireland for questioning.

Two people who were previously arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, were later released on bail.
