New telephone support service for parents

Parents and carers of under 25s in North East Lincolnshire are now able to receive advice through a new telephone helpline.

North East Lincolnshire Council said the service provided families with an opportunity to talk directly with the community educational psychology team.

Service director Jennifer Steel said the team was on hand to offer an "informal opportunity" to discuss concerns and provide information.

The council said the dedicated phone line is available from 09:30 to 15:00 every Thursday.

The authority said its team was available to discuss issues such as education, emotional well-being, family life, and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Steel, who is the service director for education, inclusion and integration at the council, said it could be difficult for families to know who to contact for services available in North East Lincolnshire.

"Whether you're looking for practical advice, a sounding board for concerns, information about local support, or simply someone to help point you in the right direction, we're here to help," she said.
