Three men charged over football disorder

Three men have been charged after disorder broke out in Wolverhampton city centre following a football match.

Videos circulating on social media showed confrontations between fans on Lichfield Street after the home team beat Stoke City at Molineux Stadium on 29 August.

The accused, aged 64, 54 and 37, were charged with a public order offence after being arrested at addresses in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, and Birmingham. The 64-year-old was also charged with obstructing and assaulting a police officer, West Midlands Police said.

A fourth man, aged 55, was arrested at a police station on suspicion of affray.

The men charged with offences were released on bail to appear at Dudley Magistrates' Court next month, with conditions stopping them going to football matches and being in the city centre.
