Suffolk Police said a busy Ipswich road was closed for about seven hours following a collision

A cyclist in his 70s has been left with potentially life-threatening injuries following a collision, police have said.

Suffolk Police was called to reports of a collision involving a car and bike near Trinity Park on the A1156 Felixstowe Road in Ipswich just after 17:15 BST on Monday.

The road was blocked between Murrills Road and Straight Road, and the cyclist was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

A police spokesperson said the road reopened at about 00:20.
