Candidates named in six-way by-election race
BBCCandidates have been confirmed for an upcoming Leicestershire County Council by-election.
Voters in Shepshed will go to the polls on 15 October to choose a successor to Reform UK councillor Helen Butler, who resigned her seat in August.
The campaign will be a six-way contest between Reform, Labour, the Green Party, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and Restore Britain.
Reform is the largest party at County Hall, holding 23 of the 53 seats, and runs the council as a minority administration.
The Conservatives have 15 seats, the Liberal Democrats have 11, and Labour has two councillors.
There is also one Green Party councillor, one Restore Britain member, and an independent.
