Adam Chalmers went missing after setting out to climb three Munros in the Ben Lawers mountain range

A body has been found after police launched searches for two walkers who went missing in separate incidents.

Adam Chalmers, 36, was reported missing while hillwalking in the Ben Lawers mountain range on Saturday.

Police Scotland said his family was informed after the body of a man was recovered in the An Stac area, and there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Meanwhile police are also searching for 60-year-old US national Timothy Rosser who has been reported missing in the Glencoe area.

Chalmers began his walk on Saturday morning, planning to complete three Munros - Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh and An Stuc.

The last contact from him was at about 12:40 when he messaged to say he had completed two Munros and had one left to go.

The force said his family wanted to thank Police Scotland, Tayside Mountain Rescue, RAF Mountain Rescue and all the agencies involved in the searches.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

US national Timothy Rosser's hire car was seen in Glencoe on Tuesday

Separately, police are trying to locate Timothy Rosser and say his family is becoming "increasingly concerned".

He was last seen after leaving his hotel in Edinburgh before driving to the Glencoe area earlier in the week.

Rosser is described as white, around 6ft 2 and slim build, with short white hair.

His black MG hire car, which has the registration LE75 FNO, was spotted in Glencoe on Tuesday.

Police said he failed to check into his pre-booked hotels in the area and it was out of character for him to not be in contact with his family.

Insp Daniel Jack said: "Timothy's family and officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and extensive inquiries remain ongoing to trace him.

"We are asking anyone who was driving on the A82 near the Three Sisters viewpoint in Glencoe around 12:45 on Tuesday 19 May, and who may have dashcam footage, to contact us.

"We would also ask anyone who may have been hillwalking in the area that day, and who saw anything which could assist with our inquiries to get in touch as soon as possible."
