Man found with life-threatening injuries in street

Police have launched an investigation after a man suffered life-threatening injuries in a serious assault in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to Harlaxton Walk, St Ann's, at 16:20 BST on Wednesday after it received reports of an injured man in the street.

The force said a 35-year-old man had been taken to hospital with serious and life-threatening head injuries.

Police said a cordon was in place while officers gathered evidence and conducted door-to-door inquiries.

Det Insp Paul Shortt said: "Officers are working swiftly to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

"We recognise that this will be concerning for the local community, and our teams are working hard to identify the person responsible as quickly as possible."

Officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
