A man has been charged with murder after a woman died falling from a height in south-east London.

Mohammed Sherif, 54, of Rowcross Street, Southwark, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday accused of the murder of Kerry Ann Goodbrand, 31.

She was found in Rowcross Street just before 15:00 BST on Friday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sherif appeared in the dock and spoke only to confirm his identity. He will be remanded into custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

Det Ch Sup Emma Bond said the force's thoughts were with the woman's family and loved ones, and officers were "working diligently" to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.

She added: "If you have any concerns, or any information which may be able to assist, please speak to an officer or contact us."
