The niece of a mother-of-four stabbed to death by her estranged husband, said her family will "never get over" her murder.

Outside Norwich Crown Court on Friday, Abigail Larkowsky, described the devastation felt by Tania Williams' family, following the sentencing of her killer after a 17-day trial.

Raymond Williams, 61, was given a life sentence and must serve a minimum of 27 years for killing the 49-year-old, in what a judge described as a "brutal attack" near her home in Thorpe St Andrew, Norfolk, in January.

Larkowsky, called her aunt a "beacon of light for all who knew her" and said it was "not fair" Williams had taken her life in a "jealous" rage.

She added: "[Williams] was jealous, petty, he should have just walked away. It is a classic case of, 'if I can't have her, no-one is', and that's so unfair.

"How dare he take her from us."

Larkowsky said her aunt was a "loud, colourful, happy" person. Tributes poured in after her death and about 350 people attended her funeral.

She added: "[Tania] was wonderful. Whenever I think of her I always get an image in my head of her laughing, we were always laughing.

"I do think justice has been served today but I think now is the start of the reality sinking in of what has actually happened.

"We're going to now have to deal with the grief of losing her.

"Her children are going to miss out, we're going to miss out. It is just wrong."

Williams was arrested outside his home hours after the murder

Williams, who was born in Texas, married Tania in 2000 and they had three children together, but he later moved out of the family home when their relationship broke down.

On the night of her murder, he searched for Tania in Norwich city centre bars and eventually found her. They were later seen walking together but then separated.

Shortly before midnight, neighbours reported hearing screams and voices outside and found Tania lying on the ground with "significant" blood loss. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

During his arrest, Raymond Williams is repeatedly told to get down on the ground

Williams was later arrested at his home in Dereham Road and charged with murder, which he denied.

At the sentencing, Judge Bate described the murder as "plainly a targeted ambush" and a "brutal attack".
