Council officers to join board of leisure operator
ReutersCouncil officers are to join the board of Sport Aberdeen, after a number of directors left the leisure operator.
Sport Aberdeen runs more than 30 indoor and outdoor venues across the city, offering sport and physical activities.
The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) last week said it was assessing concern about the charity.
During a closed door meeting at the city council on Wednesday afternoon, councillors voted to recommend two council officers join the board for at least six months.
Another recommendation to have a councillor sit on the board was rejected.
It is understood the current Sport Aberdeen chairman, Tony Dawson, will remain in post.
The chief executive, Keith Heslop, was replaced in November.
The arms length organisation currently receives more than £4m in annual funding from Aberdeen City Council.
A council spokesperson said: "We cannot comment on exempt business, including the subject of the committee meeting or any matters arising."
Sport Aberdeen has also been approached for official comment.
The OSCR said last week it would assess a concern raised, and then decide if a formal inquiry is needed once that process is complete.
