House fire caused by 'electrical fault in loft'
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue ServiceA house fire was caused by an "electrical fault in the loft", a fire service said.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Prospero Drive in Wellingborough just before 10:45 BST on Monday.
It said several appliances attended the "significant" blaze after two off-duty firefighters who lived separately nearby were able to raise the alarm with residents.
The fire service said an investigation into the cause concluded that it most likely started accidentally, but the "structural integrity of the roof" made it difficult to say for certain "where the electrical fault originated".
Neil Sadler, from the fire service, said: "We will continue to support ongoing investigations as required. No further operational response is needed, and so we have closed the incident.
"We hope to be able to get out and about in the area next week to reassure residents and answer any questions they may have."
