Attempted murder charge after man attacked in home

A woman is accused of attacking a man inside a property in St John's Road, Edlington

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after an 81-year-old man was attacked and left with serious injuries in Doncaster.

Jacqueline Massie is accused of assault at a property on St John's Road in Edlington at about 11:40 BST on Tuesday, as well as theft from a dwelling and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

The victim remains in hospital, South Yorkshire Police said.

Massie, 53, of Church Road, Edlington, appeared before Barnsley magistrates on Thursday and was remanded to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
