Woman appears in court over gunshot death
Cleveland PoliceA woman has appeared in court charged with perverting the course of justice after a man died from a gunshot wound.
Peter Phillips, 47, was found dead at Ayton Crescent in Eston, near Middlesbrough, on the evening of 23 May.
Rachael Britton, 32, of South Bank, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court and was released on conditional bail ahead of her next appearance on Monday.
Cleveland Police previously said two 39-year-old men and a 38-year-old woman, who were charged with murder, remain in custody.
Four others who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, a 55-year-old man and three women aged 36, 50 and 59, remain on bail, officers said.
Britton is next due to appear at Teesside Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
