An arrest has been made after a car was driven through a cordon set up after a World War Two bomb was found.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident happened at about 18:45 BST on 29 April following the discovery of the German explosive on Flamborough Road in the Southway area of Plymouth.

The force said a car was driven through the cordon against police instruction, narrowly missing two Royal Navy personnel and damaging a piece of bomb disposal equipment before the vehicle was stopped.

A woman in her 30s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop a vehicle when directed by an officer and criminal damage to property. She has been bailed until 21 May.
