Plans to improve transport across Lincolnshire have been put forward by the county council.

They include improvements to Wragby Road roundabout near Lincoln, the A16 Crowland roundabout and widening of the A15.

Lincolnshire County Council said if the "ambitious" transport investment programme was approved, it would be funded by the government's Local Transport Grant (LTG) between 2026 and 2030.

Sam Edwards, head of highways and economic infrastructure, said the proposals would improve connectivity, support growth and make journeys "safer and more reliable right across the county".

The southern section of the Spalding Western Relief Road is also included in the plans, as are improvements to bus stations and bus shelters across the county.

The council said the proposals were designed to reduce congestion and improve road safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Edwards said the plans were an opportunity for Lincolnshire to secure long-term investment.

"This is about improving connectivity, supporting growth and making journeys safer and more reliable right across the county," he said.

The Local Transport Grant is a government grant paid to local authorities outside London to improve and maintain local transport infrastructure.

The authority said if the proposals are approved by the executive member for highways, they would be put to the Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority's (GLCCA) transport board in September.

The GLCCA, which administers the LTG funding, would then submit the plans to the Department for Transport.
