Murder investigation closed after man dies on beach

A police force has closed its murder investigation after a man died on a beach in Gwynedd.

A 24-year-old man arrested in connection with the death in Barmouth has been released with no further action, North Wales Police said.

The 34-year-old man died following an incident in the water at the beach on 25 May.

A report into his death is being compiled and will be submitted to the coroner, and his family has been informed.

Det Supt Chris Bell said following a review of the evidence, "the investigation into the man's death has been closed".

He added that the force's thoughts remained with the man's family.
