Van driver, 36, dies in crash with lorry in Aberdeenshire
JasperImageA man has died in a crash between a van and a lorry in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were sent to the scene on the A947, north of Fyvie, at about 13:30 on Thursday.
Police have now confirmed that a 36-year-old man, who was driving a white Vauxhall van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 33-year-old driver of a blue Volvo skip loader lorry was taken to hospital for treatment. Police are appealing for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam footage.
The road was closed for several hours as collision investigators examined the scene.
Police Scotland said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died, and we continue to offer support to them."
