'We will ride with dad again' says family after biker crash

The children of a 43-year-old biker who died in a crash on his motorbike have released an emotional tribute, saying "even after his death, we will always find a way to ride again".

David Connah, described as "adored by the biker community", was riding on the East Lancashire Road in Worlsey, Salford, on Friday afternoon when was killed in a collision with a car, Greater Manchester Police said.

Christopher Almond, 51, of Little Hulton, was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.

David's twin sister said the whole family was "heartbroken by the tragic death of our beloved David. He had everything to live for".

Police are continuing to appeal anyone who saw the crash, which happened close to the junction at Old Clough Lane at about 14:00 BST, to come forward.

Almond was set to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 8 June.

David's partner described him as an "absolute gentleman and loved by so many people".

She said: "He would light up any room with his big smile and would do anything for anyone, no matter how small.

"You are going to be missed so, so much. It's left a massive hole in our lives. It will never be the same without you around."

Officers have also urged anyone with dashcam, phone or CCTV footage of what happened to get in touch.

David's sister said there had been an outpouring of messages of support from "not only friends and family, but strangers and the biker community that adored David".

"We take great comfort knowing you're back with your mum now."
