E-scooter rider involved in crash dies in hospital

A man in his 20s who was seriously injured in an e-scooter crash on Saturday has died in hospital, police have said.

Essex Police said emergency crews were called to the roundabout between Walton Road and Connaught Avenue in Frinton-on-Sea at 20:00 BST, after a collision between a privately-owned e-scooter and a car.

The e-scooter rider suffered "life-threatening injuries" and was taken to hospital, according to the force.

It said its Serious Collision Investigation Unit was carrying out inquiries to find out about the circumstances which led up to the crash and urged anyone with dashcam footage or information to get in contact.

No arrests have been made, it added.
