Murder arrest in connection with missing teen
Devon and Cornwall PoliceA woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a teenager, police have said.
Taylor Charlton, 15, was last seen on the night of Friday 8 May in Barnstaple, north Devon.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "While the suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder, we would like to stress that this is a new line of inquiry and it is at an extremely early stage."
In June, the force said "suspected human remains" had been found in the search for the teenager. The force said Taylor's family had been informed on the latest developments, and continued to be supported by officers.
A 20-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder after the teenager went missing, and was released on bail earlier in June.
On Thursday, the force said: "We appreciate how upsetting this news will be for Taylor's family, friends, and the wider community.
"We are asking members of the public to help our investigation by avoiding speculation and by not sharing any unconfirmed information online."
