Emergency services are dealing with a "serious incident" on a residential street, a councillor has warned.

Police have cordoned off a section of Brooklands Road in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, at the junction of Westfield Road.

Local residents reported hearing a police helicopter in the area close to midnight.

Ray Blackman, Reform UK councillor for Bletchley Park & Fenny Stratford, said he was "aware of a serious incident" and advised the public to refrain from posting unverified information.

In a post on Facebook, he wrote: "This is an active police investigation, and speculation is neither helpful nor appropriate."

Thames Valley Police have not yet responded to a request for comment.
