Three more men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20s died in a house fire on the Isle of Wight.

Emergency services were called to Ronsons Close in Cowes just after 03:32 BST on Friday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrested two 24-year-olds and a 59-year-old, all from Cowes, on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

A 28-year-old man, previously held on the same offences, has been released on bail while inquiries continue.

The fire spread to neighbouring properties in Ronsons Close

The force said no formal identification had taken place but it had informed the deceased man's next of kin.

Police have said there will be an increased presence in the area as they continue to investigate.

About 30 firefighters brought the blaze under control as it spread to neighbouring properties, which were evacuated.

The three men from Cowes remain in police custody.

Police confirmed the 28-year-old suspect, from Ventnor, who has been bailed was also held on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
