SuppliedThree more men have been arrested after a disturbance in Bexhill where a gunshot was reported.
Police were called to the Sidley Green area at about 23:50 BST on Monday, and a car was pursued by officers before it was involved in a crash nearly eight miles away, near Hastings, in the early hours of Tuesday.
At the time, the driver and three passengers were arrested.
Officers said on Friday that three more people had been detained - two on firearms offences and one on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 21-year-old Hellingly man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and racially aggravated harassment of an officer.
A 40-year-old man from Bexhill was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both remain in custody.
An 18-year-old man from Bexhill was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing a firearm without a certificate, and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Det Supt Jay Mendis-Gunasekera said it remained an "active and complex investigation" and renewed appeals for anyone with information or footage from both incidents.
Of the four men arrested after the car crash, a 23-year-old remains in custody, a 26-year-old remains under arrest, a 21-year-old has been bailed and a 36-year-old has been de-arrested.
Police previously said the 26-year-old driver, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, while three passengers were held on suspicion of affray.
All four were taken to hospital, with one airlifted in a serious condition.
