Men bailed after fatal fire murder arrests

Two men arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life following the death of a man in a house fire have been bailed.

The fire, in the roof of a home on Ronsons Close in Cowes, Isle of Wight, broke out on Friday just after 03:30 BST and spread to neighbouring properties. A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The men, both 24 and from Cowes, were among three men arrested on Saturday following the fire.

A 59-year-old man, also from the town and held on suspicion of the same offences, has been released from bail and will not face any further action.

A 28-year-old man from Ventnor, arrested on suspicion of murder, arson with intent to endanger life and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place on Friday, remains on bail with conditions.

About 30 firefighters brought the flames under control as they spread to neighbouring homes, with residents led to safety.
