Longleat Safari Park is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year

This week Longleat celebrated 60 years since launching as a "world-first" and resident doctors went on strike in a dispute over pay and jobs.

Elsewhere, a production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opened and walkers captured pictures of a stunning sunrise on the hottest day of the year so far.

Bristol

On strike: Resident doctors who are part of the British Medical Association (BMA) formed a picket line outside Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) in Bristol this week as part of six days of industrial action in their ongoing row over pay and jobs.

Running on empty: Cones blocked off access to some forecourts in Bristol this week including Asda in Bedminster. It comes as the war in Iran caused ongoing disruption to fuel supplies.
