Huge crowds brave the rain at Forwards Festival

Tens of thousands of music fans headed to The Downs in Bristol for one of the biggest festivals in the city over the weekend.

Forwards Festival hosted performances from the likes of Lorde, Tems, Viagra Boys and Little Simz.

It is thought around 55,000 people braved the showers for the event. For the first time in the festival's history, each stage was powered by renewable energy.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski addressed the crowds on Saturday and also spoke at one of the seminars at the festival.

Talks and seminars took place across the weekend, alongside the live music programme.

Swedish band Viagra Boys performed to a huge audience on Sunday, while (below) some festival-goers tried their hands at drumming.

Wet Leg kept things cool on the East Stage on Saturday night, singing all their hits, including "Chaise Longue".

Princess Nokia came all the way from the US to perform on the West Stage on Sunday, while South London singer Joy Crookes took to the stage on Saturday.

London artist Little Simz closed out the festival on Sunday.
