Images released after man stabbed on golf course
Staffordshire PolicePolice have released images of a man they would like to speak to after another man was stabbed while walking through a golf course.
Emergency services were called to the scene off Newport Road in Stafford, at about 19:00 BST on Thursday.
The victim, in his 60s, was in a stable but critical condition on Monday. He had been walking along a public footpath when he was approached from behind.
Images filmed shortly after the attack show a man wearing black trainers, dark navy tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded coat. The force said the behaviour of the man, who can be seen holding his hood down while running, was "significant as he was seen running away from the scene".
Officers were continuing to maintain an increased policing presence in the area and were carrying out patrols and house-to-house inquiries.

Det Ch Insp Ian Fitzgerald, the senior investigating officer leading the investigation said: "This remains a fast-moving investigation, and we are progressing a significant number of enquiries.
"The response from the community has been tremendous and I am grateful to everyone who has already contacted us with information.
"The victim remains in a stable but critical condition so it's vital we identify this male as soon as possible."
The suspect has previously been described as being in his mid-to-late-20s of average build and of Eastern European descent.
