Festival date moved due to wet and windy forecast
Weymouth & Portland Round TableForecast wet and windy weather has led to a music festival being postponed.
SummerFest was due to take place on Saturday at Redlands Leisure and Community Park in Weymouth, Dorset.
Organisers of the event, Weymouth & Portland Round Table, said with "great disappointment" they had made the difficult decision for safety reasons because of "the forecast of high winds and heavy rain".
First held in June 2023, the one-day event described as a family festival is set to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare in Dorchester and has been rescheduled to 18 July.
In a statement Weymouth & Portland Round Table said: "The safety and enjoyment of everyone attending must always be our top priority, and we do not believe the predicted conditions will allow us to deliver the safe and enjoyable family event that our community deserves."
They added the same attractions and entertainment planned for the original June date would be at the July event.
Tickets are usually sold at the gate on the day, typically costing about £4.
In previous years the festival has supported Weymouth Lifeboat Station and Dorset Air Ambulance.
