Police name man who died after being hit by car in Dumfries
Police ScotlandA man who died after being hit by a car on the A75 in Dumfries on Sunday has been named by police.
Graham Wight, 43, died at the scene after being struck by a silver Ford Fiesta on the A75, between the roundabout at Lockerbie Road and the roundabout for the A701, at about 03:00.
The car then crashed into a silver lorry travelling in the opposite direction.
Police Scotland Sgt Wayne Carnochan said: "Our thoughts remain with Graham's family and friends at this extremely difficult time."
He said inquiries are ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact Police Scotland.
The A75 was closed for more than 19 hours for investigation and road repairs.
