M5 closed as fire breaks out on lorry carrying wood
National HighwaysA section of the M5 has been closed as firefighters tackle a blaze that broke out on a lorry carrying wood chips.
Emergency services were called shortly after 17:35 BST to the fire near Junction 10 (for Cheltenham) in Gloucestershire.
The motorway has been closed in both directions between Junction 11 (for Golden Valley Interchange) and Junction 9 (for Tewkesbury) while Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service work to extinguish the blaze.
The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
