House sitter stole from homes to fund lifestyle
Warwickshire PoliceA woman who stole valuables from homes she was house sitting to fund a "lavish lifestyle" has been jailed.
Ariana Rose, 40, of London, was employed as a house sitter at properties in Shipston-on-Stour and Southam, Warwickshire, in 2025.
While working, she took items including jewellery worth more than £35,000 and replaced them with fakes. Before they discovered her theft, one of her victims praised her and said she made them a meal and a cake for when they returned from holiday.
Det Con Stather, of Warwickshire Police, said Rose lived a lavish lifestyle, funded by the things she stole from her victims. She was convicted of multiple offences and jailed for five years.
Warwickshire Police said she was employed as a house sitter through an online service, working at the home in Shipston-on-Stour in May 2025 and at the one in Southam in July 2025.
'Lavish lifestyle'
Along with the jewellery, the items she stole from the two properties included a Le Creuset Balti pan, a silver dish and gold-plated Christmas ornaments.
She was found with some of the stolen items when she was arrested in November and a search of her home uncovered more property she took from other homeowners across the country, including war medals, limited-edition books and a CBE medal.
Before she was sentenced, Rose, of Finborough Road, was also convicted of other charges in a separate hearing.
Her charges included theft, fraud, using a false tenancy agreement, and perverting the course of justice.
She was ordered to pay more than £65,000 in compensation to her victims.
