Person stabbed to death at council headquarters

A person has died after being stabbed in north-west London, the London Ambulance Service has said.

The service said it was called at 14:25 BST to Brent Civic Centre - the home of Brent Council - and sent ambulances and London's Air Ambulance. The patient was pronounced dead at the scene, which is near Wembley Stadium.

Engineers Way is closed between Empire Way and Exhibition Way, with the 92 and 440 bus routes affected.

The Metropolitan Police has been approached for comment.

A London Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 14:25 BST today to reports of a stabbing at Brent Civic Centre, Wembley.

"We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast-response cars and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene."
