A man in his 20s has been arrested following the seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of €515,000 (£449,235) at Dublin Airport.

The drugs were discovered on Friday, concealed in vacuum-packed packages in the baggage of a passenger who had arrived from Toronto, Canada.

They were seized by revenue officers after a baggage search.

The man was arrested by Gardaí (Irish police) and detained at a police station in the Dublin region.

Gardaí added that investigations are ongoing.
