Senior TT race moved as poor weather continues
ISLE OF MAN TTTT racing on the Isle of Man is facing continued disruption due to poor weather, leading to the Senior racing being brought forward to Friday.
Organisers have ruled out running Thursday's contingency session due to wet roads and further incoming showers.
The disruption has seen the Superstock race 1, which had been postponed from 30 May, cancelled. All three races scheduled to take place on Friday will now be run over reduced laps.
As Friday is a bank holiday on the island, the roads around the 37.7-mile (60km) Mountain Course can begin shutting from 09:00 BST and stay closed until 21:30 to accommodate the racing.
Continued rainfall overnight also led to the temporary closure of the Fan Park at the TT Grandstand for a review of the ground conditions by contractors.
The 2026 TT races have been severely disrupted by poor weather, with the opening day of racing postponed and Tuesday's schedule reduced to just one race.
Of the planned eight solo races in the event, two have been run so far and one has been cancelled, leading organisers to warn racing during Sunday's contingency session was "likely".
ISLE OF MAN TTFriday's schedule:
- 11:45 Supersport TT race 2 (reduced from four laps to three)
- 14:15 Sportbike TT race 1 (reduced to two laps from three)
- 16:15 Senior TT (reduced from six laps to four)
Saturday's schedule:
- 11:00 Sportbike TT race 1 (three laps)
- 14:15 Superstock TT race 2 (three laps)
Roads can begin closing from 09:00 on Saturday, opening no later than 21:30.
Should racing be moved to Sunday, road closures can start at 11:30 until 18:30 at the latest.
All remaining sidecar practice and racing was removed from the programme last week following a review of a crash involving last year's sidecar champions Ryan and Callum Crowe at Crosby Leap during qualifying.
The class has also been excluded from the Southern 100 road races in July as review of the current machines takes place.
The Southern 100 Club said running the class "without a definitive, expert-led technical review would introduce an unacceptable level of risk".
