Saturday's programme features the first Superstock TT race

The opening day of racing at the Isle of Man TT has been postponed due to low cloud and incoming rain showers.

The mountain section of the 37.7-mile (60km) course closed as planned at 09:00 BST, but closures on the lower section were delayed while organisers waited for the conditions to improve.

However, they later confirmed due to a deterioration of the condition there would be "no race action" on Saturday.

The first race of the meeting, the three-lap Superstock TT race 1, had been due to set off from the start on Glencrutchery Road at 11:00 but will now be rescheduled.

Saturday's programme had featured just one race following the cancellation of the first sidecar race of the meeting, when the class was suspended from the 2026 event.

The suspension on safety grounds followed a review of a crash during qualifying that left reigning sidecar champions Ryan and Callum Crowe in hospital.

Racing at the 2026 Isle of Man TT is now set to start on Sunday with a schedule until 6 June, when the event culminates with the six-lap Senior TT.
