Woman charged after three dogs found dead

A woman has been arrested and charged after three dogs were found dead inside a property in Dumfries and Galloway.

The 37-year-old was charged in connection with animal welfare offences following the discovery in Newbie, Annan, last week.

Police said they were alerted to concerns about the dogs at 19:40 on Wednesday. Officers who went to the building in Muirbeck Road found the animals dead.

The woman is expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.
