The crash near junction 40 involved a Seat Terraco and a HGV

A man has died days after a crash between a car and a lorry on the M6, police have said.

The crash involving the HGV and a Seat Tarraco happened on 7 April at about 13:00 BST near junction 40 of the motorway at Penrith.

Cumbria Police said the man died in hospital on Friday as a result of his injuries.

The force is calling for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to make contact.

The road was closed for hours between J41 at Catterlen and J40 at Penrith southbound.
