Two women, a man, and a teenage boy have been arrested after a car was rammed into a house on the North Yorkshire coast.

A 29-year-old man, a boy aged 17, and two women aged 44 and 51 were arrested and remain in custody after three linked criminal damage incidents on Sunday evening in Filey and Scarborough.

A car was rammed into a house on Hoxton Road in Scarborough at 23:18 BST, while properties were also damaged in West Street in Scarborough and Grange Avenue in Filey.

No-one was physically harmed in either incident and no wider risk to the community has been identified, according to police.

Clarification 21 July 2026: This story has been clarified after North Yorkshire Police updated the information provided to the media to state there were three incidents, not two as previously published. They also changed the address of the house struck by a car and changed the age of the arrested man from 29 to 27.
