| | In the past, I have sat in the theatre and watched Phantom (sob, sob) and Les Miserables (even more sob, sob) and tried not to sing along too loudly. Imagine my joy when I saw the concert programme for Sing Live! I even get too sing as loud as I possibly can - in the right places and the right key, of course. The highlight of my week

Rehearsals are the highlight of my week, as I meet my step daughter, Carla Sams, and my friend, Anita Harvey, and we go for our tea at the pub and then off to rehearse. The time just passes you by and the amount of energy you use is unbelievable, but the buzz you get is out of this world. I sing all the way home and last night I was still singing when I lay down in bed. I'm still on a high this morning!
I thought I would have a try at a solo, well a duet actually, as Anne Wemyess and myself normally sing 'I Know Him So Well' as part of our group programme. We gave it a try, but were not successful this time. We both agreed, however, that if we had not tried, we would be thinking "I wonder if I could have done that?" Anyway I'm not sure whether the nerves would have held - 2000 people and I probably know most of them! | | Susan and the other members of Reminiscence |
Did I mention the Albert Hall? It seems that the whole family are coming to see me at the Newcastle City Hall concert, even my 21 year old daughter and nineteen year old son. Not sure whether it was the mention of an after show party and mother paying or whether it was that odd 'children loving mother' moment. I hope they both don't want to go to the Albert Hall with me. Feels like I'm name dropping again. How many ways can you get a conversation to turn to the Albert Hall? Thousands and I've probably used most of them! "Not sure if I can come to that as I'm singing at the Albert Hall" or "does that clash with me singing at the Albert Hall". |
