Going it alone

The first solo rehearsals took place on 5 February 2003.

I was unsure as to how the solo rehearsals were going to work. Surely they wouldn't ask you to stand at the front of the group and sing without first having some instruction?

Oh yes they would!

"Who's going to be first, then?", asked Gary. As you can imagine, there was a stampede of people eager to be first in line.

Before we sang, we had to introduce ourselves briefly: name, profession, why we joined Sing Live and what song we were going to perform.
Not sure on my 'performance', but I knew the words, so I suppose that was a good enough start!

The talent

There was some amazing talent in that church. I have seen many shows, amateur and professional, around the country and I can honestly say I have not heard better.

Some had sung before, some had little or no experience, but all are going to be fantastic!!

And when the whole 160 of us open our mouths on 8 March, we'll lift the roof off the City Hall!!!
