Sing Live North East was launched in late in 2002. Members of the company come from across the North East and many of them had never before sung in public.

The company rehearsed regularly with a professional vocal coach.

The performance on Saturday 8 March 2003 included favourites from the musicals and the singers were accompanied by a 45 piece professional orchestra.

BBC Tyne would like to congratulate the Sing Live members who worked so hard to put on such a great concert - well done!

London bound

Sing Live is a national organisation. Later in the year, Sing Live members from across the country will get together to give a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Many of the people who performed at Newcastle City Hall on 8 March are hoping to go on to the Albert Hall.
