Watch: Teen driver does 125mph during police pursuit
A teenager drove at more than 100mph as he attempted to get away from police during a pursuit in Peterborough.
The 18-year-old was spotted speeding in a Ford Kuga on Fletton High Street at about 02:00 BST on 23 May. Police said he had driven at about 125mph as he tried to evade capture and had also reached 65mph in a 30mph zone.
He had gone the wrong way around a roundabout and ignored red lights, officers added. When the pursuit ended in Huntsman's Gate, Bretton, he fled and was later arrested while hiding in a bush.
Cambridgeshire Police said he had admitted dangerous driving and other driving and drug offences at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Monday. The force said he had been sentenced to 24 weeks in prison, suspended for year, and disqualified from driving for a year.
