Watch: Reversing van rams police car in pursuit

This is the moment a van driver repeatedly attempted to reverse and ram into police cars during a pursuit.

Ryan Bowden failed to stop after officers identified the van having no registered keeper in Southend-on-Sea on 10 November.

Essex Police said two officers were injured when the 28-year-old reversed into the side of their vehicle, but were able to continue the pursuit and avoid two further collision attempts.

At Basildon Crown Court on 21 July, Bowden, of Valkyrie, Westcliff-on-Sea, was sentenced to one year in prison for dangerous driving.
