Vandals 'fess up' after much-loved roadside giraffe damaged
Members of a sports club have admitted damaging a roadside giraffe sculpture in Cornwall after a boozy night in the pub.
The well known 8ft (2.4m) sculpture called Julian was placed beside the main road in Crowlas 10 years ago because its creator thought "the place needed livening up".
Valerie Boakes said those responsible had "a bit too much to drink", adding they "wanted to take Julian with them but sadly they snapped his head from his neck".
They have spoken to Boakes and agreed to pay for repairs. She said she told them: "I hope you have learned your lesson."
