A road in Nottingham city centre has been closed due to a building fire.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a fire in Friar Lane at 07:45 BST on Monday.

The service said it had three fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a command support vehicle in attendance.

Bus firm Trentbarton said Friar Lane was closed due to the fire and it had teams on site to help redirect customers from Friar Lane to the correct alternative stops.

Images from the scene show firefighters working above the White Rose charity shop.
