An emergency at Milton Keynes is causing delays and cancellations during the rush hour, a train operator said

Train passengers are being warned of delays due to an earlier emergency at Milton Keynes railway station.

Operator Avanti West Coast said all lines had been blocked on Friday evening due to "emergency services responding to an incident near the railway at Milton Keynes".

It posted again on X at about 19:00 BST to say all lines had now reopened but "residual delays" were expected.

It added that tickets were being accepted on a number of other routes and operators.

More details of services affected by the incident at Milton Keynes can be found on the National Rail website.

The BBC has asked British Transport Police for a comment.
